Over the last few years, Columbia has become a hotbed for micro-breweries; small-batch, independently-owned breweries who recognize how much more important quality is than quantity.
Now with eight craft breweries to its name, it seems right that Columbia has a week to recognize the amazing work that each one of them does for not just the food scene, but the social scene in Columbia as a whole.
From March 21-24, let’s celebrate Soda City Suds Week!
The week consists of four major events, starting at the Hunter-Gatherer Hangar, and ending at Main Street favorite The Whig!
Enjoy live music from Tom Hall & the Plowboys starting at 5:30, food from Mary’s Arepas and Tropical Sabor food trucks, pizza specials, and more! Hunter-Gatherer Hangar | 1402 Jim Hamilton Blvd, Columbia, SC 29205.
Art, drink, and be happy at the first Arts & Draughts with the newly renovated Boyd Plaza! All galleries will be open! A host of local vendors will provide food and drink, while local artists The Black Opera, Cayla Fralick, Contour, and Niecy Blues will be performing! Held at the Columbia Museum of Art | 1515 Main Street.
Day 3 brings with it the official SCSW Block Party! Craft and Draft will host this event, which features an all-local lineup on tap, plus live music, games, food trucks, and more! If you’re a basketball fan, then there’s no need to worry about missing the games, as they’ll be showing! Held at Craft and Draft | 2706 Devine Street.
Local favorite The Whig will host SCSW’s closing event, a “very, very, very sour [beer] heavy” brunch! This event starts at noon, and will run throughout the day and into the night. With over 25 sours on tap, and some tasty treats on offer, this brunch will surely close the 5th Annual Soda City Suds Week in style! Held at The Whig | 1200 Main Street – Basement Level
Well…there you have it! Don’t miss out on this awesome event!
