New Restaurants Columbia SC

Want to try a new place for lunch or dinner tonight (or in the near future)? Give one of these new restaurants in the Columbia area a try!

Di Vino Rosso :: Coming soon. Was Ristorante Divino one of your favorites for date night? Bet you miss it! Well, the owners have a new venture underway. They are remodeling the space that had been occupied by The Casual Pint (Dupre Building at 807 Gervais St.) into what they hope looks similar to an upscale eatery of the 1920’s (the building was constructed in 1919 as an automobile dealership). On August 8, a Facebook post revealed that Di Vino Rosso’s Chef Nick Rodriguez and Chef Michael Deevey are finalizing the new menu. The new name translates to “of red wine” – and they plan to offer a 200 label wine list once they reopen. They expect to open the new restaurant in the Fall of 2020. Follow them on Facebook to stay abreast!

Local brews for your best times on the lake or anywhere!

Republic Biergarten & Kitchen :: Now open in the old Flying Saucer location at the corner of Senate and Clark Sts. in Columbia. According to reviews thus far, the restaurant (which had its soft opening on Friday August 28) is offering good food with about the same sports bar atmosphere as The Flying Saucer. The building was purchased by the Schmanskes (owners of Burger 77). Open for dinner only.

Ratio Restaurant :: Coming soon to Northeast Columbia. From Facebook: Ratio is a chef driven restaurant with an authentic, Peruvian twist on classic cuisine, focusing on seasonal food and drink. The menu will be based on shareable small plates and tapas, bringing unique, delicious, and healthy food to a new level. It is going into the space at 566 Spears Creek Church Road, where Stonefire Grill and Veranda Grill were located. They are hiring a staff now, and anticipate opening soon.

Enzo’s Delicatessen :: Now open. Their website promises made-from-scratch sandwiches. A look at their menu suggests that this place is authentic. Where else can you get cold sandwiches stacked with Mortadella (Italian sausage), fresh mozzarella, soppressata (an Italian dry salami), capocolla (a traditional Italian and Corsican pork cold cut)? They also offer hot sandwiches made with chicken cutlets or meatballs. A simple menu that looks interesting and yummy. Located at 2002 Greene St. Primarily take-out, but they have a few outdoor tables. Open 11am – 8pm Monday – Saturday. They also offer an Italian specialty market. See their menu here.

Cool off with a Freddy’s Key Lime Concrete – available through September! 3 Columbia-area locations!

Savage Craft Ale Works :: Coming soon. This is a big deal. The founders have taken the West Columbia Fire Department building at 430 Center St. and are transforming it into a state-of-the-art brewery and taproom. From Facebook: “Old fire station bays have all been opened, original window frames have been opened. Stairs lead to the second-floor meeting room and offices, and from the meeting room will be stairs to the rooftop bar above the brewery that will overlook the beer garden and stage. We have a great team in Hood Construction and Studio 2LR helping to turn our vision into reality.”

Kudzu Bakery & Market :: Coming soon. This coastal favorite (Pawleys Island and Mount Pleasant) is opening a new location at 4600 Forest Drive (in the old Yummy Chinese spot). They’ll be offering fresh baked goods including cakes, pies, cookies and breakfast treats like muffins, cinnamon rolls and danishes! They’re remodeling the space now… stay tuned by following them on Facebook here.
