When a friend of mine told me that her dad relocated to a Northeast Columbia neighborhood from Texas so that he could live near Little Pigs Barbecue, I wasn’t surprised. Little Pigs Barbecue is one of those places you’d expect to see on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network. Owned by Champ McGee, who was recently inducted into the Greater Columbia Restaurant Association’s Hall of Fame, Little Pigs is a dining institution in Columbia. And in the land of Southern barbeque, that’s sayin’ somethin’.
Little Pigs Barbecue is unique in that they put the barbecue, ribs (yes, they have ribs on the buffet!), brisket, pork chops, chicken, wings and fish on their buffet, along with mouth-watering, homemade hash, rice, collards, beans, tomato pie, mac and cheese and many more. Their meats are thoroughly smoked, and their pulled pork barbecue is served three ways – with tomato-based sauce, mustard-based and vinegar-pepper sauce. Try them all! It’s All You Can Eat!
