NewsFlash: Shower Beer

Dear Beer Lovers,

In the name of keeping you up on current beer trends we have something to new to share with you….especially if you find the civic duty of showering to be a bore. Showering (the kick start to your day…or night!) can now be combined with another kick starter: shower beer. Yep, the Swedish beat us to it…suds has a whole new 2 in 1 meaning for me.

Shower Beer.jpg

Snask + PangPang’s SHOWER BEER —ahh! What a potentially great gift if it comes to the USA.

Created as a collaboration between Swedish craft brewery PangPang and creative agency Snask, Shower Beer is a sweet but strong pale ale. I hear you, I hear you….you can drink any beer while in the shower (and it’s true), but this is a beer specifically designed for shower consumption! At only 18 centiliters, about 6 ounces, Shower Beer is half the size of your typical bottled or canned brew. To make up for its size, Shower Beer is greatly ramped up in alcohol content: 10 percent ABV or double the ABV of a Budweiser. So you would essentially be drinking a beer that has all of the alcohol of a normal beer, but it would be in half the size (because sadly you can’t stay in the shower forever!).

PangPang brewery founder Fredrik Tunedal told Munchies, “I let the Shower Beer sit longer in the primary fermenter before dry hopping and cold crashing it, compared to other PangPang beers. This lets it develop a soapy flavor that in some beers is considered an ‘off’ flavor, but is just on point for the Shower Beer. The beer is heavily hopped with Citra [hops], and has a citrusy, soapy, and somewhat herbal profile.”

But what is pretty awesome is what Tunedal told Munchies next, “I designed the recipe so that it can also be used as a conditioner, so if you are into looking good rather than feeling good, I’ve thought of you too!” Beer + conditioner….you’ve sold me Tunedal (easily)! The only thing is this beer is bottled as a glass, so don’t drop it Foodies!beer-soap

Our fingers are crossed that it will make its way to the USA, but until then give Swamp Cabbage Brewery’s homemade beer soap a try! Choose to lather yourself with their Sabal Palm Blonde, Chocolate Brown or Swamp Cabbage Stout beer soap. Made with Oil blend – Olive, Coconut, Avocado, Sun Flower, Hemp Seed, Castor Oil, Essential Oils and Beer – Sabal Palm Blonde or Swamp Cabbage Stout, or Chocolate Brown. They tend to sell out quickly, but they are constantly restocking. Enjoy!

News Flash: Cow Appreciation Day @ CFA

Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A ChickFilA-ChickenSandwich

Tuesday July 12th, 2016 | open – 7pm

Chick-fil-A’s highly anticipated Cow Appreciation Day is Tuesday, July 12th this year. The rules are simple: wear anything cow-like and get a free entrée from open – 7pm! Guests in cow attire may select any breakfast, lunch or dinner entrée, and kids dressed like a cow may select a Kid’s Meal.

You may have noticed that there have been a couple changes to the award system this year. In previous years, those who dressed like a cow from head to toe received any meal free while those who were partially dressed up received a free entrée. This year that system is changing. To make the award more consistent, Chick-fil-A is now only giving out free entrées regardless of how cow-crazy your costumes are. But can we really complain? It’s still free!

CFA Appreciation DaySo on July 12th, don your cow-related items, and enjoy a free breakfast entrée such as the Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit or some delicious Chick-n-Minis.  But don’t remove your cow costume just yet! Return for lunch and dinner, and savor entrées such as the Grilled Chicken Cool Wrap and the Chick-fil-A Cobb Salad. Also, if you’re tired of chicken by the time dinner rolls around (impossible!) then your “entrée” can be a small hand-spun milkshake, Iced Coffee, Frosted Coffee or Frosted Lemonade.

Even if all you can pull together is a cow hat, visit your local Chick-fil-A and enjoy the festivities & great (free) food! Get creative & don’t forget to snap some pics to commemorate your udder-ly amazing costumes!
