Food Truck Rodeo

Celebrating its 6th year, the Epworth Food Truck Rodeo is a family friendly event held on the Epworth campus on Millwood Avenue, nestled in the heart of one of the oldest residential neighborhoods in Columbia. In addition to food trucks, there will be games, music and plenty of green space to bring a picnic blanket for your family and friends. Food Trucks include Carolina Cookin’, The Donut Guy, Pawley’s Front Porch, Road Runner Cafe, Doko Smoke BBQ, The Belgian Waffle Truck, Size Matters BBQ, Doggie Bagz, Scott Benny’s, San Jose and Pelican Snoballs. USC, in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Agriculture, presents a vendor fair and farmer’s market of healthy, sustainable and locally sourced food and products. Staff, students, faculty and the community are invited to purchase fresh produce, sample healthy recipes, watch chef demos, participate in instructor-led fitness and learn about health & sustainability. Take the Pastides Health & Sustainability Pledge and acquire resources to improve your health and wellness. Many of your favorite vendors, restaurants and food trucks will be featured! More here.

Rock Around the Clock Festival

October 5 & 6 | Winnsboro

Rock Around the Clock is a annual festival put on by the Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce. The festival is packed full of entertainment, food vendors, and a large car show! Friday night there will be a street dance that will make you dust off those old dancing shoes and dance the night away, and different groups and bands will be featured all day Saturday on the main stage. Food vendors will include Jones-Zee Concessions, Karen’s Mobile Kitchen, Jimco’s Concessions, Pap’s Concessions, L&M Catering, Donut Guy, Road Runner Café. More here.

EdVenture Presents DICED

Saturday, October 6

Diced is a culinary program designed to engage students interested in cooking by utilizing healthy, locally sourced, and fringe ingredients while encouraging them to consider creativity, presentation and taste in their dishes. The program will consist of a four week long cooking course with an intense cook off challenge the fifth week to showcase the skills the students have acquired in classes. The winner and runner up will receive a substantial grand prize intended to help the chefs pursue a career in the culinary field. Cook off challenge will feature talented kid chefs who must use the ingredients found in a mystery basket of surprising food items and to prepare and serve three different dishes within 30 minutes. The Event will be live broadcasted throughout the museum on October 6th! More here.

Columbia Restaurant Week

Resturant Week South Carolina is an eleven-day celebration at hundreds of participating restaurants! Restaurant Week gives food lovers the opportunity to enjoy amazing values during dinner at a number of participating casual and high-end South Carolina restaurants, like Pearlz Oyster Bar, Liberty Tap Room, Rioz, Grill Marks and more. The sixteenth annual Lake Carolina Wine & Food Festival will feature fine wines, craft beer, spirits, food and entertainment.
