South Carolina Apple Festival

Wild Turkey Farm Dinner

The Wild Turkey Farm Dinner with Master Distiller Eddie Russell will be held at City Roots Urban Farm. It will be an evening of award-winning whiskeys, wood-grilled meat, farm-fresh vegetables, and good times on the farm. Chefs Kristian Niemi and Frank Bradley from Bourbon will be preparing a four-course dinner to enjoy while tasting Wild Turkey and Russell’s Reserve bourbons and ryes. Tickets here.

September Harvest Dinner

Every day, East Bay Deli serves up traditional New York-style deli favorites at its locations in downtown Columbia and West Columbia! The West Columbia location holds a Kid’s Night every Wednesday where, from 4-9pm, kids eat for FREE (limitations apply). They hold a special event on the final Wednesday of the month. September’s Kids Night will feature a special guest appearance by Blowie the Lexington Blowfish mascot, and a  Dynamic Health & Fitness promotional table. Okra Strut Festival

Friday, September 28 – Saturday, September 29 | Irmo Community Park
2018 is the Okra Strut Festival’s 45th year! The 2-day event includes live bands, lots of food, amusement rides, bounce houses, an okra eating contest, parade and fun all weekend! This year will also see the first “Under the Canopy” – Enjoy your dinner in a fairy-tale picnic setting on Friday and Saturday night, with tables and chairs set up under the trees near the children’s playground. Food includes crab legs from Ashley’s Yummy Tummy, Hand-dipped fried chicken or shrimp from Carmen’s of Atlanta, Turkey Legs from Middle Eastern Grill, Okra Eggrolls from Filipino American Assoc of greater Columbia, and the best fried okra around from the Lake Murray – Irmo Woman’s Club. 11th Annual Palmetto Peanut Boil

Now in its 11th year, the Palmetto Peanut Boil is annual outdoor festival drawing thousands of attendees from all over the Midlands! Highlighting the best of the best cooks and recipes in SC, the Peanut Boil competition features over 20 teams vying for the honor of the championship trophy and bragging rights for another year. The Palmetto Peanut Boil also features live music, food, and kids entertainment. Admission is free, and all proceeds from the sale of food and beverages benefit the Animal Mission. Live Bluegrass music, free eye exams for those in need, vendor and food booths – bring your lawn chairs – hosted by the Blythewood Lion’s Club. Parking and admission is FREE, just bring your lawn chairs! New to Doko Fest 2018 will be a chicken wing cook-off featuring local and regional competitive cook teams, with over $1,000 in prize money! Featuring live music by 2012 National Hammer Dulcimer Champion Matthew Dickerson, Savannah River Bluegrass Band, Salt And Light Bluegrass, and The Snyder Family Band, Doko Fest promises family-friendly fun for all ages!
