First Thursday on Main

Thursday, April 5

ftomGood Life Cafe will have live music with Mike Tronco & The All-Stars, a tap-takeover by River Rat Brewery, and plenty of your favorite pub food!

The Whig will host a Beers of the Queen City event, benefiting Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands, that will feature beers from Charlotte’s exploding craft beer scene!

Included in First Thursday events is Masters at the Museum, where you can join Contemporaries of the Columbia Museum of Art and The Whig on Boyd Plaza to celebrate the Masters Tournament with live music, food trucks and Masters tea sandwiches, beer from The Whig, and an art raffle. Spring Farm Fest at Doko Farm! | Blythewood

Sunday, April 8
Join Doko Farm for a celebration of Spring! This community event will feature local farms, crafts, delicious food, and a community seed swap. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn about heritage breeds of livestock and edible forest gardens. Farm products will be available along with seedlings, and crafts. Families are especially encouraged to come for the games and a chance for children to meet friendly goats, lambs, and chicks! In addition, there will be Farm Tours and these vendors selling food and wares: Big Belly Farm, Congaree Milling Company, Crooked Cedar Farm and Joe Turkaly Catering and Events. More here.

April Harvest Dinner

A harvest feast at City Roots farm! Executive Chef Frank Bradley from Bourbon and Farm to Table Event and Catering Co. Chef Liaison will prepare a family style, four-course farm to table dinner featuring seasonal ingredients from local farmers and artisans. The Columbia Fireflies baseball organization will host Tasting Events this season, starting with Burgers and Brews, along with Columbia Craft Brewing Company on April 11! Columbia International Festival 2018

Saturday and Sunday April 14 and 15

The Columbia International Festival, held indoors at the State Fairgrounds, showcases the music, culture, food and performing arts of the various cultures, nationalities, races and language groups represented in South Carolina. The event brings all of the area’s international communities together to build better community/race relations between Columbia International Festival foodsvarious ethnic/cultural/language groups and with the South Carolina community at large.  Visit the International Food Court where you can sample the exotic flavors of foreign cuisines from around the world. River Rocks Festival 2018

The eighth annual River Rocks Festival will feature community-fellowship, fun, and LIVE music on the banks the Congaree River. Columbia Food and Wine Festival

Sunday, April 15
The rumors are true: Columbia is holding its FIRST EVER food and wine festival! Celebrate our local food scene at this event, held by Free Times and the Five Points Association. Imagine 40+ restaurants, 25+ beverage stations (with two dozen wine offerings provided by Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits and beverages from nearly a dozen local breweries), live music by Soda City Brass Band, chef demonstrations, seminars, local artisans, and so much more! Grazing for GRAZE | Benefit Food Truck Rodeo

Sunday, April 15

Grazing for GRAZE will be held at 218 S. Main Street, in the town of Summerville. The event will benefit the employees of GRAZE restaurant in Summerville. GRAZE had a devastating fire on Sunday, February 11. Fortunately nobody was hurt, but the damages impacted everyone there. Food vendors attending are Area 51 Foods, Braised in the South Food Truck, Damiano’s Wood Fired Pizza, Dashi, Trolly Dolly Treats, The Holy City Cupcakes, Pep Rolls, Palmetto Sun Kettle Corn, Charleston Caribbean Creole Food Truck,

8th Annual Wine For Water 2018

Hosted by Sustainable Midlands and Gills Creek Watershed Association, at the Wine For Water event you’ll enjoy food from local restaurants (Rosso Trattoria Italia, Midwood Smokehouse, Dupre Catering, White Duck Taco Shop and Chipotle Mexican Restaurant), a diverse selection of domestic and imported wines from around the world, and great deals at the silent auction from local donors! This annual wine tasting and fundraiser celebrates the rivers that these groups are working to protect and restore! Every day, East Bay Deli serves up traditional New York-style deli favorites at its locations in downtown Columbia and West Columbia. The West Columbia location also holds a Kid’s Night every Wednesday where, from 4-9pm, kids eat for FREE (limitations apply), and they hold a special event on the final Wednesday of the month. April’s Kids Night will feature Blowie the Blowfish, the mascot for the Lexington County Blowfish Baseball Team! He will be there from 6:30-7:30 PM, and a baseball-themed craft is planned for that night as well. At both EBD locations, you’ll find relaxing, pet-friendly patios where you can enjoy your meal in the beautiful weather along with your pups! Each year, the folks at Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter gather 10 of the Midland’s most talented chefs to compete in this one of a kind event where you get to be the judge! Each chef prepares a sweet or savory dish. Throughout the night you can stop by each chef’s table to try their sweet treat or savory hors d’oeuvre. At the end of the night cast your ballot for your favorite dishes, and help Palmetto Place award the top chefs with a Golden Spatula! Sweet & Savory is at the SC State Museum in the Planetarium Lobby from 6-9 pm. Back to the Roots Festival

Celebrating City Roots’ 10th growing season at the first annual Back to the Roots Festival! Lower Richland Sweet Potato Festival

spotThe Lower Richland Sweet Potato Festival features local performing artists, carnival rides, arts and crafts, face painting, health fair, a parade and lots of local food! This Festival was designed to bring family, friends and the community together, and for all ages. There will be prizes for the Sweet Potato Contest and for Crafts. Entertainment includes a parade at 11am, praise dancers, mime, step team, drum line, live band, games, music, carnival rides for the children with and more. Support local and wild caught to support your fishermen! The 31st Annual Town of Mount Pleasant Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year! The festival pays tribute to Mount Pleasant’s local shrimping and fishing industry, offering a boat parade, live music, Mt. Pleasant Artists Guild display, craft show and lots of free activities! Known for their classic California-style Cabernets, Freemark Abbey is credited withFreemark Abbey Cabernet helping Napa Valley earn worldwide recognition, thanks to its pedigreed history that includes two wines featured at the “Judgment of Paris” tasting in 1976.
