Midwood Smokehouse

803.764.1231 | Cross Hill Market {702 Cross Hill Rd., Cola}

Calling all BBQ lovers! Midwood Smokehouse has made its way from North Carolina down to savory South Carolina and our barbecue culture is better for it. Near Whole Foods Market off Devine Street, Midwood Smokehouse (opened this year!) is a welcome addition to the food scene. Their pit masters burn hickory wood 24 hours a day, seven days a week to bring you the juiciest, freshest barbecue that you are craving, but this restaurant serves more than just barbecue!

Their menu drools. Literally! We started off with their Pimento Cheese Fries (crinkle-cut fries topped with homemade pimento cheese) and their Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos – hickory smoked jalapeno filled with Monterrey Jack cheese wrapped in bacon (served with buttermilk ranch). YUM!Midwood Smokehouse

With 10 different sandwiches on their menu it might take you awhile to try them all, Foodies, but their Texas Style Brisket sandwich screams d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s and it’s just $9.99. Made with chopped brisket, tossed with Midwood sauce on Texas toast with smoked red onions and your choice of Cheddar, Swiss, Pimento or Blue Cheese, plus a choice of one side item — there are 12 sides to choose from (Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos being one of them!). Their menu also boasts an assortment of tacos…who woulda guessed? Get their “El Fuego” Tacos (served in flour tortillas) – slow smoked shredded chicken, pico de gallo, guacamole, stuffed with a bacon wrapped jalapeno and drizzled with ranch. Served in two and three taco portions served with slaw and your choice of side. So good.

Having a gathering soon? Try one of their Large Classic BBQ Plates. One that sounds amazing is their Hickory Smoked Salmon for just $18. Feast on 10oz Hickory Smoked Salmon Fiet served on a bed of bbq buttered corn and topped with an avocado & tomato pico. Served with your choice of two side items and garnished with hush puppies and pickled onions.

Or try one of their Small Classic BBQ Plates, such as their Carolina Pork for $10. Enjoy hickory smoked chopped pork, lightly dressed in our Eastern NC vinegar sauce. Served with your choice of one side item and garnished with hush puppies and pickled onions.

Rounding out the menu, savor their Banana Pudding and Pecan Cobbler. Plus, we should note that they also have a kids menu for your littles – BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, Grilled Cheese, and Chicken Tenders! Enjoy, Foodies!
